Things to do in Durham
Both Hollycroft and The Old Stable Cottage are ideally situated for the County Cricket ground at the Riverside which is within walking distance. Lumley Castle, a very picturesque and popular venue for weddings is also easily accessible. Beamish Museum is only three miles away by road and many of our visitors come to see this wonderful, historic, outdoor working attraction.
Don`t forget that we are on the main route between Durham and Newcastle, the former offering historic views and walks around the Cathedral ,Castle, Market Place and river and the latter the bustling shops of Eldon Square, many buildings of architectural interest ,the Quayside, the Baltic Art Gallery and the Millennium Bridge to name but a few of their places of interest.
